ANSWERED PRAYER

Thank you to all who prayed for leading on our church’s vote for a new Pastor.  It was almost unanimous that we accept this man as our new shepherd.  They are from Ohio, so it will be a month before they will be settled here, but we are looking forward to getting to know this Godly couple.

A grateful and heartfelt ‘Thank you” goes to our interim pastor, and his wife for all they have done in leading us these past 2 1/2 years.  We will miss you.

Also, please continue to pray for the family member that is in the middle of prayerfully making a life-changing decision.

  1. Glad to hear you have a new pastor. It is so hard to lose interim pastors, they step in and fill the role, long enough for us to become attached to them, and then they go do it somewhere else. I imagine it is hard for them to move on, too.

    • Thank you Pastor J. This has been difficult for me. First watching my uncle’s health deteriorate to the point that he had to retire 2 1/2 years ago, to adjusting to seeing another man standing behind that pulpit however temporary, to this final change. While I knew it could never happen, there has been a part of me that could not help but wish my uncle would be able to come back to our tiny church and resume his role there. His health has improved, but he is in his mid 80’s now and is 4 hours from here living with his younger son. I miss him dearly every time I step in those doors, and having spent nearly 10 years working in the office with him only adds to the sense of loss.

But God has worked in this church and in the life of this new pastor to bring us together. That sense of Divine Guidance was unmistakable and I really am excited to begin this new chapter in our little country church.

      • Praise God. Pastoral transition is a bittersweet thing. There is the excitement of moving forward in the plans of God but the sorrow of losing the wonder of the past. Honoring the foundations while building up is a delicate balance. May your church be blessed with the ability to do that wonderful work.
