Decide how big you want the book and trim the top of bag to the desired size.
Keep in mind that the bottom of the bag will be used as a small page between the larger pages made from the sides of the bag.
Smooth out any wrinkles in the bag. I use a bone folder.
Glue folded sides together.
Glue bottom to the side and fold over.
Glue bottoms of two bags together.
Do this for as many “pages” as you want to use.
Then take two sets and glue two of the sides together so that you have glued four bags together – bottom to bottom, side to side.
Continue gluing the bottoms of two bags together and adding them to the rest until you have as many pages as you desire.
Cover with scrapbook paper, age edges if desired.
If desired, cut a small circle out of the tops of each bag so that the inserts are easily removed from pocket.
Add photos and embellishments, souvenirs, tickets, memorabilia.
To make inserts, cut card stock or other thick paper to a size that will fit into the large page pockets. Cover with scrapbook paper and pictures or embellishments.
On the book that I did for my mom, I used eyelets to make holes in the top of the insert and tied a length of ribbon into the eyelet.
You can see pictures of this finished book here and here.
I also used tab stickers glued to the edge of the insert.
I used a strip of paper that coordinated with the rest for the binding.
And there you have it!
I hope that if you try this, you will share the results.
Have a blessed day.
