OUR GRANDDAUGHTER’S BAPTISM

“I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.  9  Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.  …  11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”   Psalm 16:8,9 & 11

Most of you know that we went to Rhode Island over the weekend for our granddaughter’s baptism.  It was a wonderful service with 13 new believers being baptized – both youth and adults.

The testimonies were heart-wrenchingly beautiful, bringing tears to my eyes.

We spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon celebrating the occasion with family and friends.

My prayer for each of these people that have given their lives to Jesus is that the Lord will bless each of them and draw them closer to Him; that their faith will grow daily and that their hearts will always be turned toward Him.

To our granddaughter, I say:

Anita-Marie, sweetheart, I love you more than words would ever express.  You have grown into a beautiful young woman that I am so proud of.  My prayer for you is found in Colossians 1:9-14

“Father, I ask that You fill Anita-Marie with the knowledge of Your will, teach her wisdom, spiritual discernment and understanding so that she may know Your will, walk within Your will, walk worthy of You and bring You glory; so that she is pleasing to You in all respects.  Help her to grow and bear fruit for eternity.  Help her to increase in Your knowledge; strengthen her with Your might and power, so she may be steadfast and patient, and can joyously give You thanks. Father, place your hedge of protection around her and keep her safe.  Please, place Your guiding hand in her life and allow her to feel Your presence with her as she goes through her day.  Help her to feel Your love and peace and joy in her heart.  Open the doors for her that You would have open, and close those doors that You would have closed.  Be with her Father and bless her life.  Amen.”
