Calling for Revival

Good morning everyone.

I just got done reading Joel Rosenberg’s article highlighting a call to prayer and revival by the president of the Southern Baptist Convention.   Dr. Ronnie Floyd, senior pastor of Cross Church in northwest Arkansas, has written an E-book entitled “Pleading with Southern Baptists”.  It is a free download and is only 16 pages.  I have not yet read the book, but wanted to pass on the information to anyone that would care to look into it.

Prayers for your week.

My Prayer for the Nation

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14

Father, forgive us our sin. Forgive us our pride and arrogance, our belief that we do not need You in our lives.

Forgive us for kicking You out of our schools, out of our homes, out of our places of work, out of the public arena.

Forgive us for twisting our laws, for twisting Your laws, and making them say what they do not say.

Forgive us for accepting and embracing all that is immoral and sinful.

Forgive us for polluting our bodies and calling it a good time.

Forgive us for condoning sexual sin and calling it marriage equality.

Forgive us for murdering the innocent and calling it a woman’s choice.

We mock You and call it comedy.

We use Your Holy Name in anger and as an exclamation of surprise and call it free speech.

We have turned a blind eye to the persecution of those that love You and worship You.

As a nation, we have turned against Your chosen people.

You blessed this country, made us the most powerful nation on earth because we were founded on Your principals and laws. You blessed us for Your purpose and will.

And yet we have turned our backs on You and sinned against You.

Father, we deserve Your wrath and judgment as a nation; a nation that was founded on Your laws and commandments, but that is now going after all that is unholy and evil.

As Sodom was, so are we now.

But, Father, as Abraham did, so I also ask that you stay Your hand of wrath and judgment for the sake of those here that love You and honor Your name.

Turn Your anger away for the sake of Your righteous children here in this country that cry out for revival.

And bring revival. As You did in Nineveh.

Please, Father, bring revival.

Turn our hearts and minds back to You.

Awaken in us a love for You, a need for You that cannot be denied.

Give us the strength to stand against the evil pervading this nation, to fight for the justice, mercy and grace that You have given so freely.

Give us leaders, Father, that know You and love You, that will turn to You for guidance in all their decisions. Give our leaders Godly men and women that will advise according to Biblical principals.

I speak as a human, Father, a frail human that can only see from human eyes in human terms.

I know that You see all, that You know what is best.

And so I ask that Your will be done in all things.

In Jesus name, Amen.
