Goodbye – for a while, at least

I come to you this morning with some sadness, but also joy, peace and a sense of expectancy.

I started this blog originally because of my writing. I wanted to share my journey into getting my novel published. But as time went on, the purpose of my posts here became more about sharing my faith and less about my book.

I went through a season where the majority of my time was spent in this world of blogging – either writing posts to share or visiting other sites. When family responsibilities took over my time, I set my writing on the back burner to concentrate on those that needed me.

When that season of my life came to an end, it was difficult for me to get back into the daily writing and reading that I had been doing before, knowing I could not use so much of my time here when other things needed my attention, and my site here became stagnant. The past year or so, I have struggled to find things to write, things to share.

And while God has been moving in my life, my ideas for posts have become almost non-existent. He has led me, grown me, and drawn me closer to Him. He has taught me how to pray more effectually; how to listen more deeply, and how to discern His leading. And right now I believe that His leading is telling me I need to once again set my writing aside and concentrate on other things. This has been born out by my current ‘mentor’ during a prayer in which this person spoke the same thoughts that had come to me – word for word.

I can see God moving around me, and am certain that this season of my life must be spent concentrating on those things that He has brought into my focus.

And so it is that I come to this – what will be my last post, for a while at least – possibly for good.

I want to take this time to thank those that I came to know and love as brothers and sisters in Christ.

The first person that came to visit my site was Butch from Wordsmith’s Desk. Thank you Butch for opening up this world to me and exposing me to so many great Christian brothers and sisters who were eager to share their faith with the rest of us.

When I searched out other Christian blogs I met Jeanne from Women’s Window. Jeanne has since gone home to be with the Lord. I miss her communications and I can’t wait to meet her some day face to face.

And then there were these:

PTL2010 – thank you for inviting me to share on your site. Thank you for your encouragement and prayers.

Annie from Freedomborn – Thank you for all your encouragement and wisdom

Pam Ford Davis – It was amazing to find a fellow Syracuse native in this blog world that now lives so far away. I will continue to enjoy your Facebook posts and your Tea Pot Testimony.

Greg from Inspirational Christian Blogs, and Wayne — It has been a while since we really interacted, but the two of you were always so encouraging with my writing – especially my short stories. Thank you, dear brothers, for that and for sharing your faith with us.

Deb from Deb’s Blog and Debbie from CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann – Ours has been a relatively new interaction, but I am blessed to have shared with you and to have received your comments of encouragement.

Pastor J from Lillie-Put and Notes from the Vicarage – thank you – for everything. I am still planning on meeting you on Facebook, but it will more than likely not be as much as what I had originally planned.

Temia, you came to this site and encouraged me and strengthened me in our shared faith. I pray you are doing well and I thank you, dear friend, for taking that first step. I look forward to meeting you in time as we stand before our Savior.

There have been others over the years, many of whom no longer post on their blogs; but will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

In closing I just want to say that I love each of you dearly and look forward to meeting you all face to face one day. May God bless each of you richly.
