To Our King of Glory

O, Lord, Your hand has not been shortened so that You cannot save, nor has Your ear become dull so that You cannot hear. It is our iniquities that have separated us from You, our sins that have hidden Your face from us so that You do not hear. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have all turned to our own way.

Our lips have spoken lies, and our feet have run to evil. Our hands are defiled with the blood of the innocent, our fingers with iniquity and wickedness.

We have transgressed and turned our back from following You, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart lying words. We have conceived mischief and given birth to immorality. We have shunned the Truth and embraced the lie, turned from the Light and welcomed darkness. Truth is lacking and the one that departs from evil makes himself a prey.

We do not know the way of peace, there is no justice in our paths. Our roads are made crooked; therefore justice and righteousness are far from us. We hope for light and brightness, but we walk in darkness and gloom. Our transgressions are multiplied before You, and our sins testify against us.

Justice is turned back and righteousness stands far away, for truth and uprightness cannot enter. You have seen it, and it displeases You that there is no justice. You have wondered why there is no one to intercede.

Lord, the earth is Your’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and all that dwell therein. You have founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is the generation of them that seek Thy face.

Your Word says

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Fill us with a humble spirit, O God, that we might do justly, love mercy and walk humbly before You. Search us, and know our hearts: try us, and know our thoughts: see if there be any wicked way in us, and lead us in the way everlasting. Forgive us our sin and shine your light in the darkness.

Lift up your heads, O ye sinners; lift up Your hearts. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who has created these things.

And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory.

Lord, arise, pour out Your spirit upon us! Let us see Your glory and the brightness of Your rising; our everlasting Light and our King of Glory.

Daily Meditation – July 18, 2019 – John 1:1-5

“1 In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him;

and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness;

and the darkness comprehended it not.”
