I know I don’t normally post twice in one day; but I have had an insight today on God’s leading, and could not wait to share with all of you.
I have continuously found the same theme, the same message, being written from various individual viewpoints since I started this blog six months ago. I know it shouldn’t, but it can still surprise me when I see all of us, at one time or another, writing about the same thing at the same time.
Maybe I shouldn’t say it surprises me, so much as that it leaves me in awe of God’s leading and timing.
This afternoon, as I was answering comments made on a post I had done for ChristianBlessings, I had a very clear view of God directing our thoughts and words and I was reminded of the poem below.
Susie, at SPTP2011 said that we were on the same page. My thoughts had been mirrored in her reading for the day.
As I read her words, I felt excitement flair in me, thinking about how God was talking to us, bringing us together on common thoughts through His leading.
Suddenly I could see each one of us, scattered over the face of the earth, with long ties that stretched to His hands. He took each tie and intricately wove it together with others, working His design out using our thoughts, our words, our lives; weaving it all together in a tapestry according to His will and His making.
I don’t know who wrote the poem, or even remember its name, but it was suddenly in my mind, along with the image that the poem portrays:
My life is but a weaving between my God and me,
I do not choose the colors; He works so steadily.
Oft times He weaves in sorrow, and I in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper, and me the underside.
Not till the loom is silent, and the shuttles cease to fly,
Will God unroll the canvas, and explain the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful in the weavers skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.
My soul was thrilled to ‘see’ each of us being used together with the rest to accomplish His will.
I am left wondering if this is but a glimpse of His plan for us this year.
