GOD’S TAPESTRY

I know I don’t normally post twice in one day; but I have had an insight today on God’s leading, and could not wait to share with all of you.

I have continuously found the same theme, the same message, being written from various individual viewpoints since I started this blog six months ago.  I know it shouldn’t, but it can still surprise me when I see all of us, at one time or another, writing about the same thing at the same time.

Maybe I shouldn’t say it surprises me, so much as that it leaves me in awe of God’s leading and timing.

This afternoon, as I was answering comments made on a post I had done for ChristianBlessings, I had a very clear view of God directing our thoughts and words and I was reminded of the poem below.

Susie, at SPTP2011 said that we were on the same page.  My thoughts had been mirrored in her reading for the day.

As I read her words, I felt excitement flair in me, thinking about how God was talking to us, bringing us together on common thoughts through His leading.

Suddenly I could see each one of us, scattered over the face of the earth, with long ties that stretched to His hands.  He took each tie and intricately wove it together with others, working His design out using our thoughts, our words, our lives; weaving it all together in a tapestry according to His will and His making.

I don’t know who wrote the poem, or even remember its name, but it was suddenly in my mind, along with the image that the poem portrays:

My life is but a weaving between my God and me,
I do not choose the colors; He works so steadily.

Oft times He weaves in sorrow, and I in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper, and me the underside.

Not till the loom is silent, and the shuttles cease to fly,
Will God unroll the canvas, and explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful in the weavers skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.

My soul was thrilled to ‘see’ each of us being used together with the rest to accomplish His will.

I am left wondering if this is but a glimpse of His plan for us this year.

  1. Dru first I want to thank you for being one of my top commentators according to WordPress review 2011, I very much appreciate all your encouragement and support both on my Blog and by e-mail, you are a very faithful, Loving friend and such a blessing to me.

Now I’m going to ask you to ponder on something and some Scripture too, no reply needed unless wanted and you can delete this comment if you want to,or parts of it, it’s a bit long, but please ask The Lord what He thinks because I know you mostly do this, as you have often shared in it in your posts .

I met a very special little boy on my Blog named Michael , so would you like your Grandson to suffer Dru and to feel pain and sorrow, to have horrible things happen to him or would you organise others to hurt him …why not ? because you Love Him and God’s Love is far greater then ours and He does not want us to suffer even though He knows we will but he also won’t go against our free will and when we are 100% committed to Him, He will make good come from all we do because there will be no evil to stop it, He can even use our mistakes for good but not so our sin.

Jeremiah 29… is for all God’s Children for all of earthly time,we are the new Jeruslem God’s Spiritual Jews and are from the Spiritual seed of Abraham when we are in Christ Jesus. without Him we are all in captivity, He is unchanging, He doesn’t plan evil for us, He never did ….

Jeremiah 29 :11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Lamentations 3: 33 For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

God created us so that when we do wrong we suffer and can cause others to suffer, also we live in a fallen world which Satan controls but He cannot harm God’s Children forever, when we come close to God, the devil flees..

I use to believe Dru that God causes or allows us to suffer for our good because of poems like this and wrong teaching but it is not true, God is Love and cannot do evil and you can’t really Love someone who you think will harm you, if you do your a Masochists. The Scriptures say to claim that God does evil is to bring good out of it is slander, but He can bring good out of evil. God’s Discipline and correction is also not how many believe, Scripture must be looked at as a whole picture … yes you will suffer for sinfulness but you cause it yourself or others do because of their sin but God is our refuge.

  2. Hi Dru just checking on Moderating I used this e-mail with you last time and it was not moderated on so lets see what happens this time, I can then report it to WordPress who say they have no control over moderating, I need to get things settled in my own mind, also I can join up with you and have it confirmed in another e-mail address but not in my own and this is the same with a few others so I’m checking this out also and will advise WordPress of the results.

Thanks for your help – Love Annie

  5. I just commented on one of your other blog entries. However, I realized this verse applies to this post as well! As believers, may we be brought to complete unity and become God’s Tapestry.

    Jesus prays for Future Believers:
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me” (John 17:20-26).

    • Melis, I have times like that; when I want to take the reigns and do things my own way – but I have found that when I do that, that is when things really get messed up and I am miserable. Life is so much more peaceful when I give complete control to Him, and abide in Him while He works on my behalf.

  7. In reading your post, I am reminded that God ways are not our ways. When things appear so dim to us, its like a diamond in the rough to Jesus! We feel so unworthy, alone, and in sorrow, but God sees us as a jewel even as sinners. We are so dear to Him. Druscilla, as Carrie Underwood put it,let Jesus take the wheel!

Thank you for encouraging others. When we come together it is for the Glory of the Lord . Amen.

    • Thank you Shenine. I agree. We will not understand God’s ways while here on this earth. We just need to know that He loves us and will be with us through whatever we go through, and will work it all to good in the end.

  8. Hi, I was raised Christian but am no longer born again, or Christian. I’ve been struggling with severe masochism for the last year. I’ve tried to return to God several times. But when I start to feel His Presence & He begins to heal me, I get scared & start crying because as the masochist I am, I can’t accept help or pleasure, so I purposely separate myself from Him. I know that God can love a masochist, but as a masochist, how can I accept God’s love?

  9. Dear Fallen,

Please let me first apologize for the delay in my answer to your comment. I wanted to prayerfully consider what the Lord would have me say to you before I wrote a word. I am not an expert on matters of faith. All of us are still in the learning stages, and none of us will ever know everything until we are in the presence of God.

Second, let me say how truly sorry I am that you are struggling to such a degree. I can’t say that I understand this kind of struggle because I have never before been in such a situation.

However, I can say that NONE OF US are worthy of God’s love. We have all been born into sin, all needing the salvation that God offers through His Son Jesus Christ.

That puts all of us on the same level. Not one of us is above or below another in God’s eyes. He is not a respecter of persons. He does not esteem one of us above the other. He is not willing that any should perish and wants all of us to come to repentance.

That is what grace is all about. It is unmerited favor from God. None of us can earn it, none of us deserve it. But He offers it to us anyway because He loves each one of us equally.

I am not learned in issues like this, and can only tell you that the Bible makes it clear that Satan roams the earth, looking to see whom he might devour. In other words, he looks for people that he can influence into turning away from God. And once a person opens the door to him, he will not give up without a fight.

Jesus said that Satan is the father of lies. He will lie and manipulate circumstances to make you believe you can’t do this, to make you think you are on your own with no hope. But it is a lie! You can overcome, with God’s help.

None of us are capable of freeing ourselves from the bondage of sin that the evil one has ensnared us with. It is only through the power of God’s Holy Spirit that we are capable of overcoming Satan’s influence in our lives and living a life free from that bondage that so easily besets us.

God is waiting for you to give Him control of your struggles. He is there, willing to grab hold of you if you would reach out. He is capable of healing your heart and freeing you from the snare the evil one has you trapped in; but you must be willing to let Him.

Please, find a Christian counselor that can help you work through these issues. Surround yourself with Christian people that can support you and pray for you as you overcome this. Immerse yourself in the Bible on CD and Christian music to lessen the power of the evil influences working in your life, and to reaffirm the truth about the Lord and the fact that He loves you.

You can do it, with God’s help.

And please know that I will be praying for you.

“Father God, I come to you now on behalf of Fallen who has been ensnared by Your enemy. I stand in the gap with your Spirit that is within me, and come against the evil influence that holds this loved one in its grasp. Father, in Jesus Name, bind Fallen’s mind, body, soul, and spirit to Your will and purpose in their life, to the mind of Christ that His thoughts, feelings and purposes will be in Fallen’s mind. Loose Fallen of every wrong and ungodly pattern of thinking, attitude, habit and behavior. Release Fallen from the stronghold that holds Fallen in its grip. Satan will no longer have power over Fallen and will have no place in Fallen’s life. I plead the blood of Jesus over Fallen. Satan and his evil ones have no power over the blood of Christ or Your Word. I ask that you fill in all those empty places in Fallen’s life with Your Word, Your Holy Spirit, Your love, Your righteousness and with the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus. Thank you Father that Jesus died for our sins, that He might overcome the power and the work of Satan. Amen.”
