FOLLOWING THE FLOCK

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”   John 16:13

I was watching some Canadian Geese fly over yesterday, and then circle to land on the lake near our home.

There was one group that was leading, and one goose that seemed to be leading that group.  But then another group came in, mixed in with the first group and suddenly they were flying into each other, wings touching as they tried to circle around and glide down.

I watched the confusion, then watched as they seemed to sort themselves out and begin to land on the water.

I was reminded of how we can also get confused if we follow others that do not know where they are going.

Those that do not have a solid foundation of faith in Jesus Christ will flounder as they follow the flock, not understanding the eternal consequences of their decisions.

But we that have the guidance of the Holy Spirit can trust Him to lead us in the direction of God’s will.  And if we follow that direction, we will never be confused or left floundering.

  1. Wonderful message of Hope Dru and yes so True, how very confused we become if we don’t follow our Shepherd Jesus Christ and walk by The empowering of The Holy Spirit. Another wonderful, uplifting Scripture that confirms what you have shared is…..

1 Corinthians 2:9-13 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that Love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with Spiritual.

The whole passage is a great read and as I said confirms what you said Dru, thank you for hitting the nail on the heard, meaning being right on target.

    Christian Love Annie.
